Sketch Slider Image and Zuki Slider

Hello. I have been using the Sketch theme but purchased the Zuki theme, for it’s slider header and post format. OMG! I cannot create a slider header in either of these themes. With the Sketch theme, I have attempted everything – if you could direct me to a step by step page of how to set up the Sketch Header Slider, other than the general help page – I would appreciate it very much. If you help with the Zuki slider header I would also appreciate this as both themes are good. Many thanks, Eliza.

In the Sketch theme, the slider is only available in the Portfolio template. This was recently clarified on the theme’s info page:

For the Zuki theme, you’ll find directions on the theme’s support page:

Scroll down to the section titled “The Front Page Featured Posts Slider”.

Hi Shawn, Thank you for taking the time to reply. I saw the Sketch slider is in portfolio, but I do not know how to do it? Do I tag it ‘slider’ or choose a format? I noticed that the ‘featured image’ for the theme is one size and the slider is another size. Appreciate your help. Cheers, Eliza

Hi Shawna, So sorry, but I thought I had the slider working, but I dont! Boo hoo. Anyhoo, I created 3 post pages and inserted featured images. I tagged the portfolio featured content and it looked like it is working, but it isn’t. Could you please help again? Cheers, Eliza

Hi Shawna, The site I need help with is:
http://elizabethkerrygraphicdesigner.com/I have worked out the Home Page slider by listing it under portfolio. The ‘featured image’ in each portfolio is a different size to the slider.
If you look at the ‘Bird on a Wire…or Two’ on my site – I have it in my ‘slider’ and as my featured image of 400x400px (or 800px). When I set the featured image it comes up in the SLIDER OK but also come up on the front page larger than the 400px – therefore out of alignment, so to speak. Does that make sense? How do I use the image as a SLIDER and then as the 400px FEATURED image ? Many thanks for your help! Eliza -
OK, so now I have worked out the sizing – but now I have a problem with the black boarder in the slider image. I have put a boarder around each 400px so all the featured images are the same size.

Can you explain a bit more about what you were doing with the border? Do you want to see it in the slider? Or not see it in the slider?

Hi Shawna, The problem is setting up the front page ‘slider’ and the portfolio ‘featured content’. The sizes are different, which I have now addressed by creating 2 different sizes on my computer before I upload (Thus I no longer have the boarder on slider pictures).
To feature a picture in the ‘slider’ – I have created a portfolio project type or page and insert the picture and type ‘Featured Content’.
Q: Is there any other way of displaying my ‘slider pictures’ than creating a Portfolio Project Type or Page?
Q: Is there any way to display my ‘featured image’ in the ‘slider’ so that both pictures are aligned?

The slider will only show Portfolio projects in the Sketch theme.
The theme designer suggests that Featured Images for content in the slider be at least 1092 pixels wide, and it looks like all of yours are. When I was looking around, it seems like the image here shows up the same size as the featured header:

From what I can tell, as long as your image is wider than 1092 pixels and is placed in your page at full size, the responsive nature of the theme will size it the same way it sizes the Featured Slider images.
For example, on this page:

I think if you make the image in your content ‘Full Size’ instead of ‘Large’ it will display at the same width as the image in the Featured Slider.
