Sketch theme code to paste in to look like demo?
-
I´m trying to redo an old blog I have (it´s on private now while I´m working on it), and changing to Sketch Theme.
I´m wondering if there is a code for the portfolio thing that can just be pasted in to make it look like the demo front page?
I don´t really get how it works.
Thanks in advance for any help. :)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. You don’t need any code to do this.
The front page of the demo shows the Portfolio Page Template. To have that, you’ll first need to enable the portfolio content type on your blog and create some portfolio project with featured images. (I’m afraid you can’t have posts display that way on Sketch, only projects.)
Then you create a new page, assign it the portfolio page template, and set it as your home page.
The slider at the top can show both posts and projects, provided they have a wide enough featured image, and you have assigned them the featured content tag.
See the theme support doc for complete instructions on how to do all this: https://wordpress.com/themes/search/ske/

Hi and thank you!
I´m trying.. I´ve gotten some of done, but it´s not really doing what I want it to do.
There´s a slider at the top?
With the project thing, I thought that I could like have a featured image to click on that took you in to like a gallery or portfolio of images in the project category.
All I seem to be able to do is have one image on each project page. One image isn´t really a project I think lol, I don´t know what I´m doing. :)

You can add a gallery to a portfolio project, same as you can in a post or page. Projects are just a special content type that, like pages, sit outside your feed and specifically intended to showcase your work, but anything you can do with a post or page, you can also do with a project, i.e. add text, images, embed videos, etc.
When you create a project, insert your gallery, but then assign one image as the featured image that will display in the thumbnail on the portfolio page and in the slider. The main portfolio page will only display one image, but users can then click on that to see the other images or gallery on the specific project page.

I running a post-heavy blog, not image based – I want to make my blog look like the demo with the images assigned to each of my blogs being the display, is this possible or should I be looking at a different theme? At the moment it is just a continuous line of my articles and it looks boring. Thanks

The Sketch front page is specifically to showcase portfolio projects. It can’t display posts in that way.If you want a theme that showcases your posts, I suggest you look at the magazine-type themes, here: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/magazine/
