Sketch theme help

    Hi there,
    I have a few things that I need to sort with my new site on Sketch theme:
    a) I can’t get my subheading to show anywhere (oil paintings and art blog)
    b) Can I remove the header banner pic from pages other than the home page?
    c) In the menu across the top of the page, there is a drop-down sub-menu, can I get these to link to the ‘Portfolio’ pages that I have coming off the homepage?
    d) I would like to change the order of the images on homepage but can’t seem to do it.
    e) How do I get the other sites I’m following to be listed in my sidebar?

    Howdy, Katharine!

    Let’s go through these one by one. :)

    a) I can’t get my subheading to show anywhere (oil paintings and art blog)

    By default, Sketch doesn’t display the site tagline on your page, only in the browser tab. But since you’re on the Premium free trial, you can add this CSS:

    .site-description {
  display: inherit;
}

    And it will display like this:

    b) Can I remove the header banner pic from pages other than the home page?

    When you select a Custom Header image it will display on all pages. So if you only want a header on the homepage, I’d recommend removing the Custom Header image. Then use Sketch’s featured content slider to generate the header on the Homepage from a post’s featured image. To set that up check out the “Featured Content” section here.

    Another option is to keep the Custom Header, but also set Featured Images on your other pages. The featured image will take the place of the custom header. Make sure to use an image at least 1092 pixels wide.

    c) In the menu across the top of the page, there is a drop-down sub-menu, can I get these to link to the ‘Portfolio’ pages that I have coming off the homepage?

    Access your Menus settings, here.

    You currently have those in your menu as Page items. Remove those times and instead add the Project items — those will lead to your portfolio projects.

    d) I would like to change the order of the images on homepage but can’t seem to do it.

    This is a toughy.

    The Portfolio Page template will always display the projects in the order of newest to oldest, based on their Post ID. The Post ID can’t be edited by just changing the project’s date, so the only way to really change the order is to create new projects (using copy+paste for the body) in the order you’d prefer them displayed, then delete the old ones that are out of order.

    e) How do I get the other sites I’m following to be listed in my sidebar?

    You’re currently using the Links widget, which appears in your Sidebar:

    If you want to keep using that widget, you can edit the links that appear here:

    But you may prefer other widgets like the Blogs I Follow Widget, or adding your own links with a Text Widget.
