SKETCH theme not showing site tagline

    I’m using the non-premium version of SKETCH theme by WordPress. It’s a great theme but for some reason it won’t display the tagline. I’m guessing because the default colour is white? Is there a way to change it? Or do you have the premium version? If so, what’s the point in giving it as an option?

    Some themes don’t include a visible tagline. Sketch appears to be one of those themes. I don’t know if it’s possible to add that using CSS, but you could ask your question in that forum. CSS editing would require a paid upgrade.

  • As ifmomsaysok mentioned, some themes don’t display the tagline, such as Sketch, to keep the design clean and minimal. You can indeed display it using custom CSS, which is available with the Premium or Business plan.

    If so, what’s the point in giving it as an option?

    The tagline is displayed in search-engine snippets and in the browser’s title bar.

  • This would be the basic CSS to display the tagline; you could add additional declarations to change the look and feel:

    .site-description {
      display: inherit;
    }

    Kinda defeats the point and sucks that a simple feature should be paid for. *sigh* Thanks for your help.

    I noticed that when I went to my site, so that’s something at least. And thank you for the code. I’ll use it as and when I make the upgrade.

    You’ve both been great. Really appreciate it.

  • You’re welcome. :)
