Sketch Theme: Portfolio Header Slider

  • Have you updated the page after setting the featured tag?

    How many featured items you have? Featured items in excess of 10 will not be displayed on the slider.

    Now it works.
    I guess the problem was that there was only one page with a featured tag. When I’ve set a featured tag to another page the slider started to work. Great!

    But … but but but :) … why is there a date of the page shown? I don’t want that :) That is exactly why I wanted to have pages instead of posts in my slider – to avoid having the date shown. Is there a way to remove the date?

  • Oh cool, could not guess you had only one featured item :-)

    You need to add the following custom style to remove date on the slider. You will have to purchase the Custom Design upgrade to be able to add custom styles.

    #featured-slides time.entry-date.published {
    display: none;
    }

    Hi,

    I have been struggling with the slider for days. I follow the instructions and as of yet have not managed to get any image on the slider, portfolio or page.

    If anyone can help that would be great.

    Thanks

    There are only 3 steps to make the slider appear on your blog using Sketch theme:

    1. Set the page template to Portfolio Page Template.

    2. Specify a Featured Content tag and add this tag to the posts/pages/portfolios you wish to see on the slider.

    3. Make sure you have more than one featured posts/pages/portfolios.

    @tailchasings I was a bit confused the few times I got into using the theme. I made a note of the 3 kinds of posts you can do with the theme and where it goes on the website. If you can see on the classic dashboard, you can add contents to these 3: PAGES (when you add a new page, a link will be displayed on your site’s navigation), POSTS (this is for your blog posts), PORTFOLIO (when you add a new project here, it gets displayed on your portfolio page).

    Like what sir staff-happychia adequately said, you have to assign a content tag for the project/s you post and make sure to use the same one on the tag name [Customize/Featured Content] so that it will be displayed on the slider. The slider can display 10 projects with the assigned featured content tag.

    The order that the slider images appear is by default the reverse of the order in which the page, post, or project was created. The order can be changed by modifying the published time in the respective editor.
