Sketch theme : Portfolio images size

  Hi there,

  I have several questions about the Sketch theme, if anyone can help, that would be so great:

  1) I can’t find how to make my portfolio images look like the original theme : which means with the same square size.

  2) Is it possible to remove the main menu (on the top right) ?

  3) How can i center each image title ?

  1) I can’t find how to make my portfolio images look like the original theme : which means with the same square size.

  The portfolio items in the demo are actually rectangles, wider than they are tall. Oddly enough, on your portfolio, the ghost images where your portfolio items (when feature images are added) appear to be squares.

  2) Is it possible to remove the main menu (on the top right) ?

  Yes. I wasn’t sure if it would work, but I was able to do this by creating a custom menu with no items, and making it the primary menu.

  3) How can i center each image title ?

  If you mean center the project images in a portfolio, then you needn;t do anything. They are centered by default. If you mean how do you center the text below embedded images on posts or pages, then you may most easily do that by highlighting the text (in visual mode) and then clicking on the “align center” tab in the post or page editor toolbar.

  Or did you mean how do you center the title on a project page with a single image, such as https://charlotteandtheteapot.wordpress.com/portfolio/la-boutique/? I believe it would require CSS customization to modify the alignment of the project title on the project page.

  Btw, the Quick Specs section of the Sketch theme support page gives the minimum dimensions of images in various features of the theme (all measurements in pixels):

  • Featured Images for portfolio projects are 800 wide by 600 (landscape), 1067 [wide] (portrait), and 800 (square) height
  • Featured Images for single posts are 764 by 300
  • Images for Featured Content should be at least 1092 in width.
  • Custom header image should be at least 1092 in width.

  Can I ask you one more thing about the portfolio I cannot understand…? Is there a way i can show my portfolio page when using https://charlotteandtheteapot.wordpress.com and not https://charlotteandtheteapot.wordpress.com/portfolio/ ? I mean using my portfolio page as the “front” and “first” page?

  It looks like you may have already figured this out. Sketch displays the portfolio on any page assigned to the Portfolio Page Template. When you assign such a page as the static front page, as you have, you have put the portfolio on the front page.

  You may also you Portfolio Shortcode if you wish to create a different kind of front page which displays the portfolio, using one of the other two available page templates.
