Sketch theme portfolio page items not reordering
-
Hello,
I’m helping with this website and using the Sketch theme, but would like to have the option of changing the order of portfolio items on the portfolio page template. I understand from reading other posts that they are ordered by creation date. However, when I change the publication date for the project item, the sequence of projects on the portfolio page template does not change. The page with the portfolio template in question here is:
He wants it kept very basic like this, and currently only has two projects here. But I changed the date of “Bending Many” to be earlier than “Nayburhoods,” but Nayburhoods is still showing first on the page.
Any idea how to change this so he can select the order of items on the page?
Thank you,

Hi Cheryl,
But I changed the date of “Bending Many” to be earlier than “Nayburhoods,” but Nayburhoods is still showing first on the page.
If the publish date of “Bending May” was previously more recent than that of the other project, then it should have displayed to the left of the other before you made this change.
Projects, like posts, display in reverse-chronological order on the Sketch theme. So when they display in rows on a large screen, the oldest displays right-most in the bottom row and the most recent displays left-most in the top row. If the publish date of “Bending May” is earlier than the other, then the two projects on that page are displaying in the correct order.
Note that they also display in the same order on the default portfolio page: https://davidharrisonart.com/portfolio/.
Another option would be to use Portfolio Shortcode inserted into a page with the default template applied, and customized to display in the chosen order, but it may not look as attractive as a page with the portfolio page template applied.
