Sketch Theme Slider
-
I am using the Sketch theme for my site:
http://www.rootsandplenty.wordpress.comI chose specifically for the slider option on the front page. I was able to figure this out using test pages/posts, but I want to see if I can use css to make the slider move on it’s own – not only with the arrows in the right corner of the photos. Currently, it will stay on the first image if you don’t slide it manually, but I wish for it to change images when someone is on the front page.
Thank you for your help! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

CSS editing cannot be used to chnage how any theme is designed to function. It can be used for appearance changes only.
Some themes have a featured post slider that automatically advances: Debut, Currents, Linen, On Demand, Modularity Lite and Sight. (the first 3 are premium themes and the last two are free themes).
There is no means here http://wordpress.com/themes/ of searching for that exact “auto-advancing” feature. We can only search for themes with “post sliders”. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/post-slider/

Well, is it possible to insert it as a slideshow instead with the same dimensions, but allows to link to the desired pages?

My friend does this on her site…take a look:
http://cabecadacabra.com/That is a completely different theme with different features. What I posted above stands. CSS editing cannot be used to change the way any theme is designed to function.

This is not very helpful in clarifying. If I switch to the Untitled theme then, the one she is using, is this possible? She was directed to css forum in order to insert this into her site – can you tell me how to do this if I switch to the Untitled theme?
Thank you. -
Well, I have settled on the bloggy site instead without any slider at all to make it easier.
I wonder if I could ask you to help me decrease the size of the title and also change the color to black – now it is a dark grey.
Thank you very much… -
Hi Kate,
Sorry Sketch did not work for you. We do have a few themes that feature slider that “auto-slide” but not all themes do that, so you need to pick on that has this functionality built in.
For the theme you are using now though, you can try the following block of code, entered into the CSS tab of your site customizer here: https://wordpress.com/customize
Here is the code to paste in:
h1.site-title a { font-size: 48px; color: #000; }If you like you can tweak that font size to find what works for you. Feel free to experiment, and be sure to save your changes when you are done.
Cheers,
-Jerry
