SKETCH THEME – Slider is Not Activating

    I’ve been trying to get a slider to appear at the top of my portfolio template page but despite following the suggested instruction I cannot get it to display on my site at http://zenasprime.net .

    I’ve set up my featured content tag with the tag name Slider and then set up the project to have the tag Slider as well as a featured image. Despite this, the slider does not show up on the template page.

    I’m not sure what else I need to do to get this working. Please help!

    Did some more experimenting… turns out that I can get the slider working with posts but not projects.

    This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

    Sorry. I think I found the answer to my problem. Just in case someone navigates to this post looking for an answer…

    If you don’t have more then one post or project in your featured list, the slider will not show.

    I will add to what zenasprime said:

    1) Go to dashboard Appearances –> Customize –> Featured Content.
    2) Add a tag of your choosing to the text box there.
    3) Tag the posts you want included in the slider with the tag you input in Featured Content
    4) The page that you are using as your static homepage must have the Portfolio template enabled. The slider will not appear in the other two template options.
    5) Make sure you more than one post there for slider to work.

    I have not tried to put portfolio projects in the slider so I don’t know if that would work or not. Zenasprime seems to say that it will not.
