SKT Themes

I purchased a custom theme through SKT called Meditation. The file they sent me did not work properly and the demo will not convert to pro. I had Blue Host look at it and their WordPress professionals who all said there is a problem with the the theme speak to the developer. I tried calling and no answer and I also emailed. The reply back I got initially was that they wanted my login information to WordPress via email. I said I was uncomfortable providing them that information and could they refund me. They then sent me an email telling me to stop calling, interesting I was unaware they knew I was calling and they were choosing to ignore the phone, and that the problem was mine. I again asked for an a new file to try or a refund and they told me it was my fault it doesn’t work. The theme is Meditation and its beautiful its really sad that they won’t help fix it or refund me so I could purchase a different theme with them. Buyer BEWARE!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry to hear about your experience!

I understand your hesitation in not wanting to give the theme developer(s) your admin login. However, it’s fairly common a developer will request admin access to help diagnose an issue directly on a client’s setup.

What you could do instead is create a new user specifically for them and give it temporary admin access. That allows them to see your installation and troubleshoot the issue. You can always change the role of the user or remove that newly created user afterwards.

I do want to note that this is the WordPress.com forums and since you’re using a self-hosted version of WordPress, these directions may help you add a new user if you’re not sure how to do so.

Again, sorry to hear what’s transpired so far, but hopefully this alternative will help you feel more comfortable and also allow them to diagnose your issue if they’re unwilling to refund you. Best of luck!
