  Do I have to have a wordpress.org account to add a skype button?

  If you provide the button code between backticks in this thread we can then answer you. The backtick is located to the immediate left of the number 1 key on your keyboard. It’s on the same key as the tilde ~ but in lowercase. If it’s a pure HTML button you can place the code in a text widget.
