Slack Channel for Forum Volunteers
-
Hey there!
A Slack channel for volunteers would be handy. I suppose I could start one if anybody is interested, but ideally it would be better if WordPress.com had control of the reins.
Any thoughts?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

P.S. There is no need to tag any thread in this Ideas Forum with modlook as all threads posted here are reviewed by Staff automatically.

P.P.S. I may be interested if and only if the Volunteers who are included in such a channel have spent at least 6 months or more answering support questions on these support forums accurately and completely. My bottom line is that I do not wish to be party to mentoring each and every pop up newbie Volunteer with aspirations of getting onto Staff or pimping their own sites. I’ve had 11 years of that and I’m over and done with it.

I find there’s no way to discuss lesser issues or minor questions with other volunteers or staff other than creating a post, which seems a little over the top, or hijacking a post, which happens too much.
PS, the modlook tag is another example of someone tagging without replying.

There is no need to discuss anything at all. You can simply selectively respond only to threads that you are sure you have correct and complete answers for. You can also bookmark or subscribe to threads you do not have answers for and when experienced Volunteers and/or Staff respond in them you will have the answers you seek.

I alerted Staff to this thread even though it is in the Ideas forum so it wouldn’t fall between the cracks. ;-)

Y’all are the best. @joerepublic we don’t have a volunteers slack channel, but we do have a way for regular volunteers and staff to collaborate if they want to. I’ll reach out :)
