Slide Show on Page

  From time to time, I put a series of pictures taken at one of our events on our web site in a slide show format. I have been trying to achieve things with wordpress but even though I selected “Slideshow” and added two or three pictures, I never saw them again and am completely lost. Can anyone hep me please, no technical jargon please, just plain good old English.
