I am trying to add images to a slider gallery in a portfolio and the gallery images won’t show up

The Slideshow block should use any images you have selected from your Media storage.
This guide will show you how to use the Slideshow block to add an interactive image slideshow to a post or page. Add the Slideshow Block To add the Slideshow block, click on the + Block Inserter icon and search for “slideshow”. Click it to add the block to the post or page. Add a new block and search for Slideshow. 💡 Using your keyboard, you can also type /slideshow onAlternatively, you can use the Image Carousel block to include images in the sliding view. This needs to be turned on in your Media settings.

I am adding images to the slider gallery at the bottom but they simply won’t add. Something is broken as it was an easy feature to use previously. I have deactivated all the plugins and thats not the issue so there must be an issue with the theme. My customer really needs this feature to work.
I also tried to add a “slideshow” but “slideshow” does not even come up in the block suggestions?

Are you maybe using a self-hosted installation of WordPress? Your UI looks different from what I am used to.

Quite likely, yes.
We are potentially using different versions of the WordPress software with different functionality. WordPress.com uses the Core version, but many variant versions are being run by other hosting providers since the software is available as open-source code.
I would suggest asking for assistance on the WordPress.org forums, their community will be better equipped to provide support for your self-hosted site.
