Slider image of the triton theme
-
Alright, for the life of me, I’ve been trying to make the triton slider work at full width. After fiddling with the CSS code for eons, just when I thought I got it all figured out and have got the slider to work at full width, I get stuck with this problem.
The triton theme crops the featured images of the sticky posts to 950X270px by default. There fore, though the slider is at full width, the featured images just get stretched across the full slider. I’m uploading high resolution images as the featured image for my sticky posts, but still, they get cropped to 950X270px and just get stretched all over the slider.
Can anyone tell me how to override the crop resolution?

I don’t think it is possible, it appears the images in the slider are resized to 950x270px by the theme and if you change it with CSS you’ll end up stretching the image and/or reducing the image quality.

Like I said earlier, that’s exactly what is happening now. Slider alone is increased, since the theme is cropping it by default, I am ending up at stretching the cropped image at full width. What I need to do is find a way to override this crop setting.
I swear it’s possible. There must be a way.
I’m a total noob at css. All I know about it is that it abbreviates as cascading style sheets. The theme’s header is 950X270px, but I forced the theme to accept my 1240x110px header image. I could do it with the help of firebug and some help from the forum. And I’m sure this can be done again to the slider images.
Like I said, I am not a coding guy. But I have done everything possible by my teeny brain and could just manage to increase the slider width. I just need some one very familiar with CSS to give it a serious try. I’m sure it will work on the slider images as well.
Please, I need help.

Ok, I found the HTML code which is responsible for cropping.
<img width="950" height="270" alt="" class="attachment-triton-lite-950-cropped wp-post-image" src="https://thereddotman.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/dsc07471.jpg?w=950&h=270&crop=1">
If I change it to
<img width="1920" height="570" alt="" class="attachment-triton-lite-950-cropped wp-post-image" src="https://thereddotman.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/dsc07471.jpg?w=1920&h=570&crop=1">
then I get exactly what I am looking for. But then again, I am able to do this only from fire bug.Now, is there a way to replicate this in CSS? If can do that, then I get the full 1920px image which I upload as featured images to mys sticky post.
Somebody, please help. -
To change the crop size for the featured images would require editing of the theme php script files, and we cannot do that at WordPress.com.
I see you have done this in your custom CSS
img { height: 100%; width: 100%; }which will stretch the existing cropped image to fill the entire area, but also affects other images since it is a very general selector. If you wish to affect only the slider images, you can do it like this:
.featured-posts img { height: 100%; width: 100%; }which will only change the images in the slider.

:) yes I do have questions. However, since this theme is not flexible enough with my needs, I moved on to another theme. I am discussing questions related to it on this thread. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/messed-up-the-header-in-triton?replies=14#post-2220851
I will close this thread.
