slider images, always unsaved
-
In regard to my wife’s art gallery site: LorraineRyanArtGalley.com, using Premium, Chronicle theme: I’ve loaded 6 images into media. I want to build a slider with these images.
Okay I’ve: Blog Post>Add>featured image>set featured image>and below that in a box> set featured image. This displays the row of 6 images. I click on the first one, then on set featured image
Each time a large image displays on another page. I see no save or publish. I see status and click–I see Publish Immediately and click there. A calendar displays. I click on today’s date. I click on the small version image on the lower right side where it says featured image. This takes me back to the row of six images, and I click on the next image and go through the same process on each of he 6 images. There is no SAVE or PUBLISH button to be seen on either page, and when I want to finish and quit either page I’m offered a warning–I will lose all unsaved data. And that’s exactly what happens. I have spent hours and hours doing this over and over trying o find the magic button but to no avail. No way to save or publish. I cannot create a slider. Someone has to take me by he hand and make it happen. Please.
I have also followed this instruction from chat: post
2. Set a featured image for that post
3. Under categories and tags, add the slider tag as per this screenshot https://d.pr/i/sY5XsHThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,

To what row of six images are you referring? Any post or page can only have one featured image. You set one featured image on a post, and then update the post to save it.
Are you trying to set up the homepage slider that’s included in your theme? That slider displays posts, not images – the images that display are the featured images set on multiple posts that are being featured. The slider’s primary purpose is not to serve as an image slideshow, but to feature specific posts you’ve published on the site.
In other words, you create a post, add a featured image, and give the post the tag you specified for Featured Content in the Customizer (you have it set to slider tag, though I’d recommend you use a tag with just one word rather than two) and publish the post.
Then you create a second post, give that post a featured image and the featured content tag, and publish. And so on.
Then the slider on the front page of the site will appear, showing the featured images for all the posts you’ve tagged with the featured content tag, up to a total of four posts.
You can see the instructions for this feature of your theme under Featured Content here:

If instead you simply want a slideshow of images, you need to add that inside the content of a post or page using our image gallery feature:
