Slider in oxygen Theme!!! Help Please and Thank you

I have looked up the forums on the slider for the oxygen theme, read the instructions provided for the oxygen theme. I still do not understand how to acitvate the slider for the Oxygen theme. I have made a post with a featured image that has px over 750 wide. It still is not showing up. I only did one, just to see if it would work. And it did not. Could someone please go through the process with me. Thank you!

In order to activate Oxygen’s post slider, not only does your post need to have a featured image 750 pixels wide, the post itself needs to be marked “sticky” and you need to publish a Page using the Showcase page template and set it as the front page of your site.

Yes, I did all of this. It will show blogs with the article summary. I want the slider shwon on the theme’s showcase page.

Well, you didn’t do all of this. As Jen already said, you need to create a new page (in Pages > Add New), enter a title but no content, select the showcase template from the Template pulldown, publish.
If you want that page as your homepage, you then go to Settings > Reading and set the blog front to display that page. -
It seems adding a page with the special page template and setting it to be the homepage is the single-most overlooked instruction of every theme that incorporates a front page slider in this way. That’s why I set that part of my sentence in bold text. :)

Either this or the featured image size!
Now, strictly speaking, the showcase page doesn’t have to be your homepage: you can set a regular static page as your front and use the showcase page as your posts page; but I don’t see why one would prefer this.

the dropdown box in the page attribute section doesn’t have the showcase page templete to choose, just default template, contributor page and full width page
did I miss a step that adds the showcase page template?

– how can I achieve that the posts appear under the slider? – Seetings – reading – post pages – when I mark here “About”, I have to connect this page to posts somehow, or?thanks, Robi
