Slider issues
-
Hi. I’m having a few issues trying to add the slider feature to my blog. Currently using the ‘Stay’ theme, with some customisation. Keen to hear from anyone who might be able to help me. Cheers, Jason
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Did you follow the instructions provided on the theme description page which is here > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/stay/
Scroll to “Home Page Template“.
Related threads on the Stay theme. -
Hi timethief. Thanks for that. Unfortunately, I had already tried following the instructions there, but with no success. Any other ideas?

Where exactly would you like the slider to show? If you mean your current homepage, that’s not possible: the slider on Stay can show on a static page, not on the posts page.

Thank you justpi. That’s what I was suspecting, and it’s a relief to have that confirmed. Cheers. J

You’re welcome.
The slider on Stay links to static pages. Is this what you wanted or did you want the slider for a different reason? -
No. That’s great. I can work with that. I’ll consider using the slider on some of the static pages then. Do you know if one is able to increase the size of the header image to screen width?

One way to do it (assuming you mean theme width, not screen width):
a) Create a suitable image (1200px wide), and upload it via Appearance > Header, selecting the option “Skip cropping”.
b) Add this in the CSS editor:#masthead hgroup { width: 100%; } .site-header img { width: 100%; }But in my opinion the blog title & tagline won’t look ok with such an image above them. I would probably reposition them above the image, or in front of the image, or hide them and create an image that includes the title & tagline on it.

justpi – You are a genius! Thank you so much. And if we ever meet, I owe you a beer, or two. I’ve uploaded an image for the header and will keep playing with it (as one does with these things) over the coming weeks. Again, many thanks indeed.
