slider size – Zuki theme
-
Hi there!
I need to reduce the slider size in my blog. On the live chat has been said that I need to use the CSS. Do you have an example? I don’t have an idea of what to add in there.
Thanks , GiorgiaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Giorgia, given the height of the two images you currently have in the slider vary greatly, this is a little difficult to control. The flex slider area has to be the height of the tallest image, otherwise when the slides changed, the content would move up and down. I would suggest trying to keep all the images in the slider the same sizes, or at least close to the same heigh to width ratio so that the flex slider doesn’t have to size based on one image that is quite a bit taller than the others. According to the Quick Specs in the Zuki Theme Showcase page, the images:
Featured post images in the Featured Content Slider should be 1200×800.
You can give the following a try, which reduces the featured content div to 75% of what it was, but if you click to the sunflower post/image in the slider, you will see that it is determining the height.
#featured-content { transform: scale(0.75); }For reference:
Watercolor image: 305 x 265 (1.85 to 1 width to height)
Sunflower image: 799 x 243 (3.29 to 1 width to height) -
Hi! thanks for your instructions. I’ll change the (examples) pics size I put in there.
Can I change the pic size from wp?I followed also your instructions on Css and it reduces the size. thanks for that.
One more thing about the slider size. Is it possible to reduce/delete the space above and below the slider itself? i would like to leave less space between the upper area and the articles section.
Thanks again. -

Yes you can. When you edit the image, you have the ability to set the crop to either a ratio or actual pixel sizes and then you can save them and they should update on your site.

You can reduce the space above and below the navigation with the following CSS. The 56px is the space above, and the 80px is the space below the navigation.
#site-nav { padding: 56px 0 80px; }On the space below, it is the min-height in the following. I would wait till you get your images sized similarly and then play with the height. The text box with the title and summary in it is also part of the equation. If you have a long title, then that box will get longer, so you may end up adjusting it from time to time as you change stuff out in the slider.
#featured-content .rp-big-one-content .entry-thumb { min-height: 800px; } -
Thanks!
It works with the above space but not with the below one.
I tried to change 80 px into 10px but didn’t change anything..I need to change pics and give them the same size. If it doesn’t work I’ll write you back, if not, thanks for your feedback.Bye :)
