Slideshow

I am trying to put a slideshow in the sidebar of my site which is Piano black theme. I have seen this on another site with Piano black theme. I used this code
    [slideshow]

    -

I put this in a text widget which did the trick except that the frame in dark grey was 5 inches high and the width of the sidebar. The photos were proportionate to the sidebar and had no problems with these. The sideshow that I saw on another site the frame was nicely done and covered the slideshow with the appropriate space between the image and the frame. Do you know how to get a slideshow in the sidebar?

Inline CSS such as Z-INDEX is no longer supported. In order to change the CSS of your theme you’d have to purchase the Premium Bundle at $99/year.

There are currently two ways of adding a slideshow to your sidebar. The first is the Gallery widget. Add it from Dashboard>Appearance>Widgets>Gallery widget
    See here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/gallery-widget/

The second is to use a Text widget and use the current Gallery shortcode, adding the ID numbers of the images in the Media Library you want to use. See here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/#gallery-shortcode

An example of the Gallery slideshow shortcode would look like this, where XXX is the ID number of your images:
    [gallery type="slideshow" include="XXX,XXX,XXX"]

I currently have both set up in the sidebar on my demo site so you can see what they look like. https://ablogdemo.wordpress.com/

You mention that you saw a slideshow on another site, so a link to it would be helpful. :)
