Slideshow
-
I’m using the slideshow option for an image gallery, and I want the slideshow to only change image when the arrows are clicked on, rather than changing at a certain time. Is this possible to customize with CSS? Also, I’d like the slideshow to end at the last image in the series, and not to keep going in a circle.

Hi, controlling whether slideshows advance automatically or not is not something we can change at WordPress.com. It would require editing of the theme files, and we cannot do that here.

Hi, if you have a premium plan, you can modify the auto sliding, by changing the autostart property to “false”.
[gallery type="slideshow" size="full" ids="311,312,313,314,315,316,317,318,319,320,321" autostart="false"]

You don’t need any plan whatsoever to change the Gallery Slideshow shortcode to “autostart=”false”.
Switch to the Text Tab of the Post or Page Editor and add that autostart parameter to the Gallery shortcode. See here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/gallery/#gallery-shortcode
You cannot however, change the Slideshow timing or the loop regardless.

@justjennifer, many thanks for catching that. Why do I always forget you can set that in the shortcode?

I picked cubic as my theme because of the pretty picture but then when I selected the theme I got none of those pictures. I do I change the pictures to what cubic theme is and then make it a slide show.

Hi, theme demo sites are set up with sample content and images. When you activate a theme, it does not have any of the demo site images. You will need to use your own images.
The Cubic Them Showcase page has information on setting up and using the theme.
