Slideshow background color won't change

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello, I have my settings set to have a white background color in the slideshow, but it still stays black, any ideas?

    Also, I cannot disable comments on static pages, can you please show me how?

    Thank you!

  • Hi there,

    That setting (white background) applies to the enlarged images you see in the image carousel, when you click on a gallery thumbnail image. Slideshows don’t use the carousel viewer, however, which is why you never saw a change.

    However, because you have the Custom CSS upgrade active on your site, you can try the following line of code.

    .slideshow-window {
    background-color: #fff !important;
    border: 20px solid #fff !important;
    }

    To use the above code, click on your site name on the admin menu at the top left, and in the drop-down, select “Customize” to launch the site customizer. You can also reach the Customizer from your dashboard by going to Appearance>Customize

    From there, click on the “CSS” tab, and paste in the code, and be sure to save your changes when you are done.

    If you like you can tweak that CSS value to find what works for you. Feel free to experiment. :)

    Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Oops, almost missed that one. To turn off the comment form on static pages, edit that page, and first click on the screen options tab and make sure the “Discussions” option is checked, as shown here:

    Once you have that enabled, you can scroll down past the text editor window to find the Discussion settings box. Just make sure both options are UNCHECKED as shown here:

    This will turn off comments for that page.

    Hope that helps!
