Slideshow image size
-
I’m trying to display the slideshow at http://andrew-hayward.com/projects/ as wide as possible.
Here at http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2010/03/31/share-photos-with-a-slideshow/ there are images in a slideshow that are displaying at 730 x 410 px. When I try and use an image that size in my slideshow it gets resized, in fact all of them seem to be resizing to 544px x 407px or there abouts.
I’ve changed the maximum content width to 800 px at the bottom of the custom css page. How can I get the pictures to display as that other site has?
Thanks :)

Hi there,
We have only one Volunteer thesacredpath who regularly helps with CSS editing as well as Staff. Please be patient while waiting for help. -
First off, what you see here, http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2010/03/31/share-photos-with-a-slideshow/ , is a slideshow. What you have is a gallery which will show a carousel when you click on an image. Slideshows and carousels are two different things.
Secondly you increased the “max-width of your site by 370px (690 to 1060). Did you also increase the “maximum image/video size” in the field below the CSS edit text area by 370 as well? If not, it is using the standard maximum width.
-
I should add that I’m not entirely sure that the carousel feature uses the max-width setting on the CSS edit page, but it may.

Thanks thesacedpath :)
I spent most of yesterday trying to sort out the slideshow (I also had issues with slideshare, there were annoying grey areas and the image quality wasn’t great, even after I imported via PDF) so I tried experimenting with the gallery and it seems that I can make it work. I also hadn’t realised that the caption overlays the picture in the WP slideshow and you can’t move it.
I hadn’t realised there were forward and back buttons on the fullscreen view on gallery, but after learning this I think it will suit my needs.
I have one last question if I may, is there any way to remove the permalink and “like” links on the gallery fullscreen?
Thanks for all your help :)

Give this a try and see what happens for the like and permalink buttons.
div.wpcom-carousel-buttons { display: none; } -
Perfect :D My site is coming together really nicely now, thank you for all your help with it!
