slideshow not working with Gateway theme

  Greetings. I learned that I can no longer create slideshows on the retired Pilcrow theme. So I went through the painstaking task of choosing another theme and I activated the Gateway theme this morning. Alas, slideshows still don’t work?? Does anyone know why? Do I have to recreate the post in order for the slideshow to work?

  Any advice/help is greatly appreciated.

  I did a test with a new post and it does the same thing. It presents the first photo in the slideshow and you have to click on arrows to advance? That isn’t a slideshow to me. Is this the way slideshows work now?

  Still working at this and trying to solve the issue. I found the slideshow block and edited it so that it would “auto-play”, except it’s not auto-playing. I still have to click on arrows in the preview to see the next image.

  I’ll keep working on it and checking back here. Thanks again for any help.

  Maybe the changes aren’t immediate? Do I have to wait until tomorrow for the changes I made for the slideshow to work properly?

  Okay then, never mind. It seems that I had to wait a day before the changes took effect. I just did a test and now it works.

  Ha, ha. I wasn’t patient but okay. I know I looked and clicked everywhere I could see but there was no pause button on the slideshow the day I switched to Gateway. So I guess it was a glitch. But thanks for your reply. I appreciate it.
