slideshow thumbnail
-
Hi
I’ve set up a short slideshow on my blog and would like to increase the size of the thumbnail image that provides the link from the homepage. It’s currently left justified and small, with text beside it that says “this gallery contains 6 photos.”
Is there some way to increase the size of this image so it fills more of the column?I hope that makes sense as a question. I’ve hunted round on the forums and tried various things but nothing seems to make any difference. With thanks for any advice.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry but we cannot provide you with correct answers to you questions until you post and active link starting with http:// to the blog in question. Will you please do that now?

Apologies – it is this blog: http://postcardsfromdelhi.wordpress.com/ It’s the Aug 17 entry that I am struggling to present better.

You can use a bit of a trick to make the gallery format into a customized excerpt so that your small thumbnail (which is the standard size for gallery format in your theme) will be a larger size which will link to the actual post with the gallery.
Hope this helps.

1tess, thanks for the trick. I need a little bit more help to make it work. I have deleted the 6 images I had in the gallery (as they were all attached to that post). Then I added new versions to the media library using “add new” so they are all unattached.
But if I then go into the (now empty) post, and try to add them to the excerpt box, using Add an Image from the media library, they appear in the draft post itself, not the excerpt box, and immediately attach themselves to the post.
Please help! It would be great if you could spell out this step in the process in a little more detail.
Thanks.
