Slideshow with vertical thumbnails

    Hi, a clients asked Leif there is a WordPress.com theme with a slideshow like this https://www.steffenallen.com. I have had a look at the various themes and I can’t see one but thought I would check here before I tell her no.

    Hi earthgripper, we don’t have one just like that. If all of the thumbnails are vertical, though, you may be able to find a theme that displays them a different way. Or, you could use a slidehshow block and see if that works well for you. I think if the images are the same size it will fit the slider accordingly.

    Or, they could use a Jetpack gallery. When you click on an image in that, it’ll bring up a carousel that lets visitors scroll through the images. You can see that in effect here (scroll down the page for examples)

    For the effect on the site you linked, it looks like each picture is “jump linked” to the picture below it. You could do that with HTML, though it wouldn’t create the smaller strip along the side. For what it’s worth, I personally wouldn’t recommend it. When I click on a picture I don’t expect to be taken to something else.
