Slow blog speed
-
Hi,
I recently started writing the blog, http://www.investingblogger.blog.
Since 2nd March, I upgraded from the free plan to the Premium plan. Since then, the blog speed has deteriorated as per the Google speed test.
It is especially bad for the mobile platforms.
The recommendations from google is to 1) Remove render-blocking JavaScript and 2)Optimize CSS Delivery.
Can someone please guide me on how to do this. I do not have a technical background or know coding.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @financialblogger12, PageSpeed Insights seems to be broken right now and is not returning any Mobile results on the four sites I tested, including yours.
I checked to make sure that AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) was active on your site, and it is (and is by default).
We’re already highly optimizing the JavaScript we’re serving to you by concatenating all of the multiple JavaScript files into a minimal number of compressed files served from a CDN network that serves the file from a datacenter close to you.
Generally speaking, there is nothing between Free and Premium that would affect page speed rating as long as there were none of the Premium Plan featured activated. WordAds can have a small affect on loading times as the add information has to be downloaded by the browser from outside of WordPress.com. The same is true with Custom Fonts. They have to be downloaded from the font provider.
I do notice that you switched from Radcliffe 2 to Dara about three days ago, and different themes will have different rankings depending on the complexity of the theme and the features that it has and are being used.
There are a number of things that can contribute to render blocking and CSS above the fold issues, and some are outside of our control, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter widgets, and WordAds to name a few. All of the code/information for those comes from them.
Another thing that can affect scores is server loads/problems on our servers, and also at any third-party sites where information needed for your site comes from. In addition, the time of day can have an affect due to high levels of internet usage.
Just out of curiosity, when was the last time you checked PageSpeed, and what were the ratings? Was it before or after you switched to Dara?
