Slow site load on mobiles
-
My site is loading slowly on mobile phones. I have tried everything I can think of to improve it but nothing is working. I am using Jetpack but I read that WordPress.com premium plans come with an otimize plugin. Should I remove Jetpack and use the WordPress plugin? Is there anything I should do before removing Jetpack?

Hi
Are you still having this issue as its been a while since you reported the speed issue. I visited your site on my mobile safari and chrome browser and the loading speed was ok. at least as normal as my wordpress.com sites.
About the optimize plugin, you may need to reference check again as it does not appear to be an option of premium plans.
This feature is available on sites with the WordPress.com Business or Commerce plan. If your site has one of our legacy plans, it is available on the Pro plan. The Page Optimize plugin is automatically installed on plugin-enabled sites. It supports a few features that may improve how quickly browsers are able to load your site here at WordPress.com: Concatenate CSSConcatenate JavaScriptDeI would not recommend removing jetpack and I think you may also want to read this guide on factors that negatively or positively impact your site speed.

I can confirm removing Jetpack would cause some trouble — thanks for your help here @codinggigi!
@kevpola – is there a particular page on your site that loads slowly for you, or is it just slow overall? I did compare it to my similar test site and the initial page load was slower. I kind of wonder if one of the other plugins or the theme you’re using you’re using is slowing things down.
You could use the Health Check plugin to troubleshoot from a mobile browser. That will let you deactivate your plugins and switch to a different theme without affecting the live site. Once you determine the offending plugin or theme, you can reach out to their support for assistance.
