Slug issues for pages
-
I’m having problems with trying to set the slug for a page.
I want this page, http://fireontheocean.com/volturno-database/news/by-date/1913-2/, to use the slug
1913rather than1913-2.When I try to set it to
1913in either the Edit window or the Quick Edit area, it just reverts to1913-2.What this would ordinarily indicate is that the
1913slug is already in use somehow. When I manually type in the URL with the1913in place, it loads the parent page, http://fireontheocean.com/volturno-database/news/by-date/.But, I don’t appear to have a duplicate of the parent page (i.e. one at
…/by-date/and one at…/by-date/1913/) and no other page uses the slug1913— sub-page ofby-dateor not.The
by-dateparent page did have a different slug before, but it was not1913.Any suggestions to remedy this?
The slug for the parent page is set to by-date
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t set a plain number as the slug, because the resulting URL doesn’t mean childpage N, it means Nth page of a parent page split via the next-page tag.
