Small "Beacon Theme" Changes Possible?
-
I found this premium theme: https://beacondemo.wordpress.com/
I didn’t purchase the theme yet, but I think about it. I wonder if something small could be changed…
The theme has a clean frontpage and shows the latest blogposts, But below the latest blogposts, it can also show the latest posts of the categories that are shown on the frontpage. In the case of the demo site I linked, there are categories set on the frontpage called “writing”, “books”, “photos” and “artwork”.
Is it possible with CSS to move those four categories up that they are shown first on the frontpage, above “all latest” posts?
The theme shows…
– all latest
– writing
– books
– photos
– artworkBut I wonder if it could be changed in this order…
– writing
– books
– photos
– artwork
– all latestI saw the theme has the option to move each individual category up or down, except the first element where all new posts of each category are shown…. this element can not be moved in the theme option, can it be moved down with CSS?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Due to the way Beacon is structured, and because it is a responsive design theme, this really isn’t possible. We would have to use position:absolute; to do that and then that element would lose its relationship to the other elements and float freely so it would not adjust and flow with the other elements and end up overlapping or hiding other things on smaller screens/windows.
