Smaller image header

Hi,
I use the kubrick theme, and I’d like my image header not to be stretched to the maximum size but just nicely fitted in. Is this possible without buying the custom css pack? -

Well I want my header just to show a custom image, with around it the header background colour I chose. I know I could resize the image and put some colour around it, but I don’t want to do that. I just want a small image in the center of my header, with the nice coloured gradient around it…

This is your blog?I don’t think you can do that on WP.com; when you upload a custom header, it either matches the exact size of the header or is cropped and stretched to match that size.
I think the best thing you can do is to use something like Phixr and resize the image to a smaller size, then added a coloured border to make it the exact size of the header; that way nothing should get cropped and you’ll get the image and the background you want.
