Smiley and error 504

  The last two days I have had some difficulties to edit my private blog. Sometimes I see a small smiley somewhere on pages and a small pencil icon in the bottom left corner. Sometimes when I try to update changes, I get an message “error 504 try to refresh your broweser…” (or something like that)?

  I use Mozilla as a browser.

  What´s going on?

  Are you referring to http://me3tutkijat.wordpress.com/ ?

  If so, those could be related to some outages we had yesterday and today, though everything is under control now.

  Are you still having trouble?

  Yes, I’m refering to that blog and then another one vynuoliala.wordpress.com where I operate in two roles (I´m creating a blog for local paremt’s association and it should be published soon…

  Yesterday evening (in Finland) I still had these problems (blank pages etc.)

  I just checked the other private blog nuolialanvy.wordpress com (I wrote it wrog in the last message…) and I saw this small smiley again there in all the pages…

  Are you talking about on the public pages of the blog that you see the smiley?

  If you are talking about on the public pages, rather than in the dashboard, that smiley is Angela (not sure who named it) and it is part of the wordpress.COM stats system.

  Yes, that’s the one. I just got a bit worried, since the visibility of all my blogs is set private (vislible only to users I want to choose) and I can see the smiley as an “Administrator” too. One private blog (theme Enterprise) shows this smiley both on dashbord and when reading the blog or previewing changes when I’m for example editing an article.

  Anyway, my blogs still dont’t “work” normally, so I probably need to contact support as suggested here.
