Smiley face in footer
-
Hi, there is a smiley face in the footer of my wordpress page and I can’t get rid of it:
https://vivaelfalafel.wordpress.com/
I looked around online and it seems that it has to do with the JetPack plugin. I have a free WordPress account and can’t see any way to configure JetPack from my dashboard. I don’t see a link for it anywhere.
Can you please advise for how to get rid of this smiley face? Thanks.
Chris

Hi there, The smiley face is a “pixel” for stats purposes https://en.support.wordpress.com/smiley-on-your-blog/ , but I haven’t seen it or heard anyone mention it for years.
Looking at your site I don’t see it anywhere in the footer. Were you able to remove it?

No, I don’t know how to remove it. It’s still there:

Any ideas? I can’t access “JetPack” from my dashboard, I don’t see a link for it anywhere. I’m using the free version of WordPress.

Hello again, FWIW I don’t see a smiley in your site footer on vivaelfalafel (temp screenshot). I checked in Firefox, Chrome and Edge, all latest versions.
Given that it’s built into the stats feature, I don’t believe we can remove it or at least not without having an upgrade that allows us to edit the CSS of our theme. But if your site visitors are not seeing it, it wouldn’t be practical to upgrade just for that.

The smiley face is in all three of screenshots you attached. It’s very tiny and in black text, so it’s easy to miss.
It’s not a huge deal for me, but it’s just weird and annoying really.
