SMS 2FA Texts Not working 07/21/19 MST

Back up codes, password reset email link AND SMS verify work fine – but not the ‘2FA’ SMS codes – receive all but those – Is there a maintenance issue going on?

Hi there,
There’s no maintenance going on on our end, and we’ve sent you several SMS messages. But our logs show those are being blocked by your mobile carrier.
Can you please let us know what mobile carrier you’re using? And meanwhile can you use one of your backup codes to log in instead?

Carrier is Straight Talk – I DID receive the verification code when I did a password reset yesterday, but that code was sent from a different number than the # the login verification codes show coming from.
Is there a way to remove the 2FA, and I’ll set up using Authenticator, instead? At some point, I’ll run out of back-up codes… :)

I cannot turn off the SMS 2fa until I can get the verification code – and cannot receive the verification code – due to their blocking –
On with carrier right now – to see if an issue on their end – initial response is ‘no’ but waiting while they check ….

Straight talk is insisting that prior use of SMS 2FA with WordPress that worked was a ‘glitch’ (HA!) and that it is seen as a “premium service’ to get log in verification codes from ANY system generated thing – sigh –
So they are escalating my query, cuz the answers I’m getting don’t make sense – and I was able to log in use my dwindling Back up codes to get myself back in and will wait and see what service provider comes up with to explain –
