SMTP on a WordPress purchased domain

  Hi I have a friend who’s company domain she says was purchased from WordPress.
  I want to set up email however I can’t find anything online which tells you how to set up SMTP email accounts on a WordPress domain. I know in others eg. 123Reg you can configure email accounts in cPanel but where is the equivalent in WordPress. I can see plugins mentioned but surely WordPress has basic email configuration without a plugin?

  Wordpress.com doesn’t offer emailservices. But there are several solutions, https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/

  Hi @nickstocker,

  If you sign up for Professional Email, mail records are automatically added to your domain. You can add additional mailboxes from your WordPress.com dashboard.

  If you’re looking to send email from your site using SMTP, you can use plugins such as WP Mail SMTP to set this up, as outlined here: https://support.titan.email/hc/en-us/articles/900001846283-Send-email-using-WP-Mail-SMTP-plugin
