  It seems to be snowing here – how do you switch that off? I am finding it incredibly distracting – I need minimal clear stuff, not unnecessary noise!

  Dashboard > Appearance > Extras

  Check the box and then click ‘Update Extras’. If you’re blog isn’t at WordPress.COM, then ask at the WordPress.ORG forum because our software runs differently. http://wordpress.org/support/
