Snow not showing up on my blog

The snow is not showing up on my blog. I have the box checkmarked and have tried unchecking and rechecking it (saving in between). I have looked at it on chrome and internet explorer, both logged in and logged out, and on two different computers. There is however a weird anomaly going on at the BOTTOM of my blog involving a lot of white horizontal stripes…

I’m really disappointed about it. It’s working on some of my other blogs, which of course are ones I’m not doing much with at the moment.

I did change my theme and reset it, and now it’s snowing. I’m wondering if my other background just had too much white so maybe they don’t have snow for those because it wouldn’t show up anyway.

I think it does have to do with themes – like maybe it’s not working on the older themes anymore. I’m kind of disappointed that wordpress doesn’t seem to care about it, though.

The snow effect is a seasonal feature that can be turned on in Dashboard > Settings > General every Christmas season on WordPress.com blogs.

Go to your dashboard.
Navigate to Settings → General.
Check the box next to “Show falling snow on this blog.” at the very end of the page.

As I immediately disabled snow as soon as I knew how to do it years ago I cannot witness it. That’s why I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

i believe the snow IS showing up – but at the bottom and going sideways in long lines… it’s rather odd.

why not be creative and learn how to create your own snow with CSS (if you have the upgrade)?!

there are plenty of examples of how to simulate falling snow in codepen and jsfiddle that do not require

merry xmas

i tried to see how WP implemented the snow feature but it is hidden in layers of code so I quite after a minute or looking around with Inspect
