  snowfall used to apppear for a few weeks around Christmass. How do I make it happen?

  I’m afraid you can’t make it happen if you have a free site. With a Premium plan there is a workaround though. See this earlier thread with a reply from a member of staff: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/snow-18/#post-3395820
