So-called Improved Posting Experience
-
I really do NOT like the new posting format. I don’t like that you can only see a tiny portion of the page at a time, and I do not see any benefits from this format. And now it seems you can’t switch out of that format like you used to be able to do. Can someone tell me how to avoid this BEEP BEEP post format and continue to use only the original posting format? Thank you!

Hi there,
You are not alone. You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. For locating the ways and means of accessing the legacy or classic pages for creating posts, editing posts, and viewing stats see here > Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/Mar 18, 2015, 10:29 AM
The Classic Editor will continue to exist in wp-admin. We know some users prefer to use this editor, so we want you to have access to it, instead of phasing it out with the new version of the Dashboard. However, a link to the Classic Editor will not return to the New Editor. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/when-editing-an-old-post-how-do-i-switch-to-the-classic-editor?replies=5Features that won’t be included in the new editor

Thank you! I am glad to know they are not phasing out the “Classic” version. I will go check out the links you posted.
Can you tell me what are supposed to be the improvements? I just don’t get it!

Thank you again—I installed the script, and now it goes directly to the Classic Editor. Thank you!

Hi, I think it´s a matter of habit. I actually prefer the new one. It´s easier to manage your social media sharing and the custom message you´d like to go with the sharing. You can also add your location and specify your preferences for comments, pingbacks, if you want to stick the post to the front, etc. With the Classic one I used to forget about sharing my post for example, now I do it before I post, all in once. But I guess that the Classic one is a better match for other people. Just my thoughts ;)

Oh really? I disagree 100% with you. I am a desk top user. I will never use a mobile to tablet to blog with. The new Beep Beep Boop editor is be lacking features I require and I don’t use it at all. -
Thanks for your thoughts, Carla—but I don’t even know what half of that means! I write lengthy posts, so trying to find and edit a specific part of a post is a nightmare when all you can see is one inch of text. Linking to social media is nice, but I’ve had no issues doing it with the Classic Editor.

I use my laptop, never my phone to blog. So I am with Timethief. Maybe WordPress is redefining what they mean by “blog” to mean Instagram or Twitter. If I wanted to publish only 140 characters or a photo, that would be fine.
For now I will stick with WP because I know it (or knew it). But if they change and make the new editor the ONLY editor, I will look elsewhere.

I can’t find a “copy a post” on the “improved posting experience.” I have series of posts that I often work with and copying a last posting saves me TIME.
I’ve been going old school too.
