so confused…why do I need to approve commenting that I didn't write…???
-
Sorry, I feel dumb for not knowing this, but everytime I link my page to another one of my pages…(for example, at the end of one most, I might put You might also enjoy reading ______” and I link it to another post. Then in my comments, it says I need to approve a comment and the comment is listed by me linking to my site.
I’m not sure if this makes sense, but do I need to approve it? Why does it do that….and should I not approve it or leave it…?
Thanks!

It’s probably just that Akismet tightened up since the influx of spammers this weekend, and your pingbacks are getting caught. Just Approve it and the next time it happens Approve it again, and then it shouldn’t happen anymore.

Interesting. I’ve ALWAYS had to approve pingbacks from myself to other posts on my blog. It was my understanding from reading the Forums that this was stock standard behaviour. I don’t believe anything has changed, as far as I am aware this is the way it has always been (since November 2010 anyway).
Are you old-timers saying you don’t have to approve your own pingbacks?

No but I don’t approve all pingbacks. I delete most self pings. It’s easier than this > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pingbacks/#can-i-stop-self-pings

I have had to approve my own pingbacks, but I’ve done it so often now that I don’t have to anymore.
