So I did something bad
-
I got a charge for my account and I wasn’t sure why I was charged. I have someone else managing my website from a non-wordpress server. We thought maybe that it was just something that I forgot to cancel when I switched over. Well I guess we were wrong because my website is gone now. Is there anyway to get it back?

Hi restorativewomenshealth
Can you please let us know the site URL for which you need help?
-
Hi there,
You used to own a personal plan and domain, restorativewomenshealth.com, with us, bought for the WordPress.com site, restorativewomenshealth.wordpress.com. These upgrades renewed on 20 September. You cancelled those upgrades on 21 September, and we issued a full refund. You can see receipts for this in your account’s transaction history at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/
I have someone else managing my website from a non-wordpress server.
We can only help you here with purchases for sites hosted with us on WordPress.com. If this charge is related to a WordPress site hosted elsewhere, you need to contact that hosting provider directly for help, as the charge would have come from them.
-
I guess what I don’t understand is that if the charges came from you, which they did as you cited above, why did my website disappear if it is being hosted elsewhere? Is there any way to reverse the refund and get the site back up and then I can figure out what’s going on? Thanks for your help.

The site that the canceled domain was tied to still exists: https://restorativewomenshealth.wordpress.com/
The refund has been sent already and cannot be reverse.
If you want to recover restorativewomenshealth.com please let us know which of these options works best for you:
Wait: You can wait about five days for the domain to be released. So long as no one else buys it before you do, you can purchase it again with another provider.
Repurchase the Domain: We can send an invoice and restore the domain. You’ll be able to point it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.
Repurchase a Plan: To host your site here after all, buy a plan, skip the domain option, then update us here.

Can I go ahead and repurchase the domain? Just curious if restorativewomenshealth.com will be restored or will I have to start over?
Thank you! -
I have sent a payment request for the total of $18 to the email address on your account. Once the payment is sent, please reply here to let us know, and we will send a note to our domain partner regarding restorativewomenshealth.com. This process only takes about 2-3 days start to finish.

I paid the $18. I got a receipt in my email however after submitting the payment I got this message
“There was a problem with your payment. Please contact support quoting error 40807847/HHRRUI”
I really appreciate all of your help with this. -
That’s odd, the payment did go through. :)
The good news is,
restorativewomenshealth.comhas been recovered! -

Me again. Ok so I see that my domain is active again. The site I had built however is not there. Is there any way to get that back?
Someone was helping me with http://www.restorativewomenshealth.com by hosting it on hostgator. That person is now telling me that they don’t have time to help me get it back up. So if I have WordPress host it will the site be restored or do I have to start over regardless? -
Hi @restorativewomenshealth, I think I spotted the issue: the domain was pointing here rather than at hostgator. I found the old settings and put them back, and it seems to be working. It may take your computer a few hours to “forget” the last settings it saw, but I can see a picture of a woman with curly hair and glasses right now. If that sounds right to you, you should be all set as. soon as your system sees the new settings.
