So lost!

I have created a blog on wordpress.com but I have absolutely no idea how to edit it. I started reading some instructions but that seemed to be about wordpress.org. I’m confused.

Start with the FAQ which is up at the head of the forum. That should guide you to the basics; then, when you’ve got a more specific issue you can put the key words in the search box and the forum will bring up the existing threads on that topic: that’s the best way to get your feet wet.

Thank you raincoaster. The problem is that I started a blog but I can’t edit it. I thought I didn’t have to download software to do that. It’s almost as if it’s not recognising the blog as being mine.

I’m wondering that as well since your name isn’t connected to a blog here at wp.com.

What is the URL for this blog?

What specificially are you trying to edit within it?

This is an issue we have seen a few times with the activation of new blogs. If you can send in a support request via the support link at the bottom of wordpress.com we will get it sorted out for you.

If you’re signed in to WordPress it should let you edit it. On each post you should see the word Edit and if you click on that it’ll take you to the Edit page. If you don’t see it, check that you’re signed in to WordPress and you have cookies enabled. You can get to your sign-in page by typing in the URL of your blog and adding “/wp-admin” to the end (no quotation marks). If that doesn’t work, I’d send a Feedback. Are you able to get behind the scenes at all, to your Dashboard? Because from there you should be able to get to the Manage page, and once there you can click on Edit for any post.

Thanks very much chaps. You are all very helpful. I did email support about an hour ago about this problem because I thought something seemed wrong. It’s not linking me to my blog. I have no idea. hopefully they’ll respond and this will be sorted. Once again, thank you very much for your help.
