So there is no 'Live Chat'? And another question…
-
When I purchased this package I read I would have access to ‘Live Chat’ somewhere. But it looks like the only help I will get will be from your customers.
I really need to chat with customer support because I have several questions and I don’t want to take weeks to get the answers going back and forth with your customers. For instance, I was wondering if I can combine my WordPress blog with my new site? Also, I see going through your ‘themes’ is a bit slow (it was faster looking for my blog theme, I could see several at once)? Is there a way I can use the same theme as my blog’s theme?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
See here for all the support options when you have technical support issues see https://en.support.wordpress.com/help-support-options/
Those who have a paid upgrade use the “Contact Support” form, http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ where they will receive a choice of having staff answer your question publicly or privately.
The best contact form to use now is:
http://wordpress.com/help/contact
Live chat will be available there if we have Happiness Engineers available to chat. When they are not available using that link results in posting to this peer support forum. https://en.support.wordpress.com/live-chat/re: direct email support
Also note, that you can email Staff at:
support@wordpress.com
or
help@wordpress.com -
I don’t know if you will read this soon or days from now (if at all by judging the form letter I received) but I wanted to point out your website stated “Live Chat” was available for Premium customers. So, where is “Live Chat”?
(If you don’t believe me just click your blue button below to the left, “Go Premium”, and you can see the quote and services)

If you’re a WordPress.com Business subscriber https://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/, you’ll have access to priority Live Chat Support (7am-7pm US EST). If you’re not a subscriber yet, you can find out more about available plans for your site here. https://store.wordpress.com/plans/
From: Live Chat support at https://en.support.wordpress.com/live-chat/ -
So, if there is no real “Live Chat” for premium subscribers (which is not described in your packages description) then I want to cancel the account. It isn’t what I paid for and I want my money back. How do I request a refund?

Thanks, Josh. After hours of trying to find help I happen along the page that connected me with Live Chat…well, limited Live Chat.
WordPress has a problem with their Live Chat offer. First, let me explain that to me “Live Chat” means someone is there to help during a certain time span (for instance – 24/7, 7 to 7 EST.) When I purchase the premium package which advertises it offers Live Chat I expected the same thing. Instead the first hour of trying to find help I was being redirected to a forum (which is NOT Live Chat).
After some time I came up with a page that looked like the beginning of Live Chat but, again, it started to refer me to the forums. I was once referred to a page that stated Live Chat was only available to Business subscribers. That was NOT that was advertised on your site.
Then something happened. I got someone, after I canceled my subscription and noticed you kept $26 you I was refunded the rest of my money. I learn the $26 was for my domain name. It’s about double of what I would have paid with Go Daddy but I understand the promotional angle and cancellation policy (it really need to be clearer because I found someone else asking why she only received $73 when she was refunded).
What I figured out Live Chat is available to Premium accounts “only” if someone is available. That needs to be stipulated on the page that describes the different services among the packages. Instead of saying support was available by “Email and Live Chat” it should say “Email and limited Live Chat”, or something like that.
Anyway, I just wanted to explain my frustration with WordPress. When I finally got with Live Chat they did help me some with my site. I came up with some other problems and reported it last night around 6:06 CST, which I believe is after Live Chat gets off. So I am expecting something by email sometime today.

our apologies that you ended up with such a confusing support interaction. And a sincere thank you for taking the time to write out that feedback. I will pass it along and we will learn from it going forward.
If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Since you ask, I do have two new questions; for now. I changed the theme to my page (it took some time because I had to use the method of “trail by error” to find a theme that would work close enough for me). Speaking of which, I also have a suggestion. What took me so long to chose a theme was because what I say in the demo wasn’t what I got. WordPress might consider having a demo fully showing what it contains.
Now, on to my questions…
1. Under ‘Tags” link on the Dashboard there is an option to write an description for each tag. Why is that and what is it used for?
2. What are “categories”? I’ve seen my page was listed not having one.
Thanks again and have a great week.

I have another one. Is there a way I can change the email address on my account? Not sure where to find it and I want all notices to go to a different one.
-
Sorry, got another one. Under settings for my site there is an option to hide or show related contents after posts. What does that mean? There’s no explanation I can find online.

Sorry I’ve hadn’t got back to you sooner. Been busy with finicky computers.
The link about descriptions for tags is…
https://jupiterfactorseries.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=post_tag -
So, the description field is not used very often. A few themes may display it somewhere, but it is not common and I cannot think of a theme off the top of my head that uses it.
-
-
Unlikely unless the theme was using it. That said, it also couldn’t HURT the search results either. So if you’ve got the extra time, you might as well fill the descriptions out.
