So there's no Autosave any more?

  In addition to my suddenly being forced to use that crappy New Post form, it doesn’t even have the basic functionality of Autosave?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there. The new editor does have autosave. It autosaves in your browser, though, so if you clear your cache without actually clicking Save Draft, then the autosave is lost.

  The classic editor is still available, though. You can reach it from the WP-Admin dashboard: http://attempter.wordpress.com/wp-admin

  A user has also created a workaround using a user script that forces your browser to switch to the classic editor whenever the new editor tries to load. See here: https://github.com/tpenguinltg/wpcom-edit-post-redirect.user.js

  But I’m not understanding what you said about Autosave. What I did, to test whether it was still there (this is with the newer, inferior
  editor), was start a new post, type a few lines, wait a few minutes, then close the window. Then I went to see if there was an Autosave, and there was nothing listed among my drafts. I thought the point of Autosave is if one had a power outage
  or something right in the middle of work. How can it still be
  functional if even closing the window erases and doesn’t save it?

  What you describe is how I also understand it should work. I don’t know how often it autosaves (at what time intervals), but in the other thread I linked staff member @jeremeylduvall assured us that the autosave does work (sorry, that thread got four more pages longer since last night, so I can’t give you a link to the specific post – there are just too many to search through). But please post your observations in the other thread. Perhaps Jeremey can give more clarity on exactly how it’s supposed to work.
