Sobe theme, strange link

Thanks in advance for any help.
I’m setting up, and while i’m previewing there is a link in my side bar that i did not put there. Its not a widget link, so maybe it came with the template? Hovering over it, it gives my user name, but when clicked, it takes me to a “page not found” error.

I can’t see a place to edit this. Is it meant to bring me to a profile? Is it the home button? I’m at a loss, but I hate having buttons that will take people away without a good reason.

    Thanks again!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there, that link is coming from an item you added to your Sidebar Social Links Menu:

    Menus Melissa Howard WordPress

Because you didn’t include a full URL, the theme doesn’t recognize what service it is, so it’s displaying a generic icon and the link doesn’t work correctly.

If you meant to add a Twitter link, you can replace the current URL with this:

    https://twitter.com/authormhoward

If you decided to use the Social Icons widget instead, you can delete or unassign this custom menu since you don’t need both.

Let me know how it goes!

I was using the widget. How strange. I’ll check on that. setting up the menu was tricky so i sort of dropped it.. i guess it saved instead of deleted.

That worked wonders. Thanks very much!

  • Great, glad that did the trick!
