Socia Media – LinkedIn Company page
-
I want to use the Social Media Icons Widget to link my WordPress site to my company page. The current set up (that appends the Linkedin username to http://www.linkedin.com/in/) does not work for company pages.
How can it be solved?
TxsThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It seems that the Social Media Icons widget needs some modifications for Linkedin business page. I also tried the widget and found that the icon only supports personal profiles. It automatically puts “http://www.linkedin.com/in/” before the username we provide in the widget input box. But the Linkedin company page format doesn’t have an “in”, instead the “in” part is replaced by “company”. So the automatic URL part (to be added by the widget) should be “www.linkedin.com/company/” for a company page. I tried with putting “company/page-username” (with my own business page) in the widget input box, but it did not work because of the built-in “in” portion inside the widget.
I think WordPress.com can solve this problem very easily (if already there doesn’t exist a solution that I don’t know). They can just add an extra icon for Linked-in business page or let the user manually put the total URL inside the input box and choose the image icon from wherever they wish.
I’m adding a “modlook” tag to this post for a staff’s attention so that we can get a solution.

Thanks for reporting this. Right now this widget just supports individual profiles, but I’ve passed along a feature request. Cheers!

Help. We need this too. A company website with a personal linked in page link isn’t much use to us.
