Social Icons-Sorbet et al

This is sort of related to my request in the Ideas forum to add a specific genericon, but more of a general support request for Sorbet and other themes that have a social icon area.
If one wants to add a link to the social menu bar that is not a recognized genericon (like twitter, instagram, flickr, github, path, etc.) could the icon please fall back to the link icon instead? Right now, even though I have added a specific link to the custom menu for social networks in Sorbet, it doesn’t appear at all there.
If I’ve posted this in the wrong area of the forums, I apologize.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve added this as a feature request, and I’ll keep you posted on what I hear. :)
In the meantime, you can always use a text or image widget to link to that site in your sidebar.

Understood, but was just hoping to add this link to the social icons area since it is a social network.
Actually I’m not entirely correct. The link does appear, at least in the code. But because it isn’t recognized as one of the usual social networks, there’s no corresponding icon that appears. That’s why I suggested falling back to the link icon.
