Social Links in multiple themes gone
-
Ok – I admit it. I think I messed up.
While trying to customize a theme my social links disappeared. You know, the links that have the images – pinterest, facebook, twitter, etc. I’ve tried using different themes that include the social links prominently either within the header or on a sidebar but none have worked.
So… What have I done? How can I get those social links back?
I’m tech illiterate so please respond in simple terms. Thanks!

Hi there. With your current theme you need to set up a custom menu to have the social links display. Instructions with links to the relevant support documents can be found under the heading Social Links in your theme’s support doc: https://wordpress.com/themes/fictive/
This article could also help you with the custom menu part should you get stuck: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/
Also feel free to ask here if you need more help.

I’ve read through that and it says that the social link buttons would automatically appear in the header and I could add the URL to that image. BUT they aren’t automatically appearing – I must have done something. I might just have to go through and upload some images of my own .

Check out your detailed theme description page here http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/fictive/ and scroll down to “Social Links” and then follow the instructions you find please.
