  I would like to see more options to link to additional social media sites, such as YouTube and Instagram. It would be great to have the option of displaying social media icons that link to the related twitter feed, instead of embedding the feed in the sidebar.

  You can easily do the first of your requests using the customization features of the Share options. You can do the second by using a Text widget, but it won’t update the way the Twitter widget does.
