Social Media Buttons/icons

So I’m super confused about how to add social media buttons. I’m finding that the sidebar is getting too cluttered for my ocd ;-P so I looked around and noticed some blogs had just buttons. I’ve been messing around with codes but I still haven’t been able to add a pinterest, facebook, instagram icon. I am aware that some themes offer a option where its build into it but the theme I currently have doesn’t offer any of that. Also, I did read somewhere that you have to pay for the domain in order to have a little more room to play with adding things like that. I would really appreciate any help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You are correct that some themes offer that while some don’t. If you want to switch to a theme that does, you can do that. Some themes are premium-only and therefore needs to be purchased first before you can use it. See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/premium-themes/

A domain name upgrade is a paid feature where you can use your own domain name (for example: confessionofagordita.com) instead of the usual blogname.wordpress.com. It has nothing to do with the social media icons feature.

You can use widgets (in Appearance -> Widgets) to add various social network-related contents (Facebook likes, recent tweets, Instagram pictures), but I don’t think you can add your own buttons there; only what are currently available.

Lastly, each and every blog post can have their own social buttons (for likes, Twitter sharing, and so on). This is called the Publicize feature. See here for more details: http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/

Dashboard >> Settings >> Sharing >> enable the buttons you want at the bottom of a Post

the publicize feature is not needed to enable the sharing buttons, nor do you need to have any account related to the buttons to enable them

Ok…I checked out the enable buttons and played around with those. Thank you for the tips. I also did a little of more research on media buttons and decided to add media buttons using a code and after much time was able to add 3. Thank you for all your help!
